A Cheshire Virtuosi Concert review
We were lucky enough to attend the Chamber Concert in Nantwich which included the Alwyn Concerto for Flute and eight wind instruments with solist Wissam Boustany, the evening was a concert of music performed at the very highest level including staff from the RNCM. We brought a number of students from Shrewsbury School, all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and enjoyed watching professional musicians performing rather than being the performers themselves for a change. The repertoire was varied and included works from a range of periods which created a varied and entertaining program. The ensemble consisted of wind and horns and the music was extremely tight with precision and detail in every note. The highlight for myself was Wissam Boustany's improvisation which really captured the audiences attention, taking them to a far and distant land!
We are extremely lucky to have the amazing concert series so close and I can only look forward to future events.

We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed today's concert at Worleston Village Hall. What a treat to have such wonderful musicians playing such an interesting programme.
I especially enjoyed the Divertimento - the Nocturne was so atmospheric, and I love his use of extreme ranges and colours. And for Martin Ellerby to be there, and for him to talk about the piece beforehand was very special. The Mendelssohn I know a little, but not in that version. It was lovely.
Please pass on our thanks and congratulations to all who took part today, and thank you for organising it , and also to Anne for the wonderful cakes!

What an absolutely wonderful series of concerts you have conjured up for the Worleston audience this autumn! It has been a privilege to hear such a huge variety of music played to such a high standard in a beautiful friendly atmosphere. We are very lucky to have you, able and willing to put in the enormous time and effort it must take to organise these events.
Robin and I have enjoyed chamber music for many years, but it has tended to be the string/piano quartets/quintets so exposure to another medium has educated us and enhanced our understanding and experience of the genre.
I am pleased to hear that you will be starting up again in April - glad we don't have to wait until November!
Anyway, a huge thank you to you and Anne - her cakes are the icing on the cake if you will forgive the pun! Today's carrot cake was the best I have ever had.

Just a quick note to say a massive THANK YOU for all your hard work making Saturday a success.
It was an absolute joy and privilege to play with the orchestra, play my solo pieces AND play the trio with you and Emma. It really was a dream come true not only to play bassoon in an orchestra but also to get to play on the same stage as a professional bassoonist!!
My mum loved the whole day and was blown away by your hard work, dedication and enthusiasm.
All the students of Worleston Music School are very lucky indeed to have you.
...also I loved hearing all the other students play - I particularly enjoyed Nina on the clarinet, the amazingly talented flautist (Katey), Victoria's focus on the piano and your son's beautiful tuba playing had me in tears, it was very moving!!

Hola Andrew!
Whilst I have lived on the island of Mallorca for many years I recently had a rare chance to visit the UK, staying with long friend and musical collaborator, Martin Robinson, a local saxophonist.
Just wanted to drop a line to say that the concert we attended on October 23rd last, conducted by Dr Timothy Reynish, was definitely up there with the highlights of my trip. It was a most enjoyable and gratifying experience. Well done!
I was unaware of the Worleston Music School beforehand but, now having had an opportunity to peruse the website, I want to add my congratulations and support for your sterling efforts to bring orchestral instruments into the lives of young people. I will certainly spread the word regarding your endeavours and offer you the most sincere encouragement going forward.
Who knows, perhaps one day I may get the opportunity to see one or two of your students perform down here with the Orquestra Simfònica illes Baleares. :-)
